Antique Barometers Specialist
Patrick Marney began his working life as an apprentice to a firm of scientific and meteorological instrument makers, then joined his fathers company in London which specialised in the repair and restoration of antique barometers. An association that was to total more than 20 years,until his father retired in 1984.
Patrick then moved to Long Melford and later to Dickleburgh in Norfolk, specialising in the repair and restoration of antique barometers and scientific instruments. He services major public and private collections,one of the largest at the Science Museum in London and has clients in all corners of the world.
In recent years he has been called upon by curators in this country and abroad
to help catalogue barometer collections ( most recent The Mariner's Museum
in Newport News Virginia and the Harvard University Collection in Boston )
